Application Tips and Tricks

  • We have gotten feedback from other applicants saying that our system tends to function better when the browser, Firefox, is in use.

  • If you are using Internet Explorer and are experience issues accessing our application, click on the Compatibility Mode icon found toward the top right of the browser window. It looks like a torn piece of paper and is on the top right of the browser, next to the refresh button.
  • You MUST upload a resume to complete step 1 of the application process. If you do not upload a resume, an error message will appear and you will not be able to submit step 1 of your application.

Openings

We are accepting applications for all grade levels and all subjects for the 2012 – 2013 school year.

We are currently predicting that we will have openings for every grade K - 11 and every major content area, including art, band, Spanish, and special education. We will also have teacher-leader positions available.

What we look for in a teaching candidate

At KIPP, we believe that an excellent teacher:

  • Believes in creating innovative lessons that focus on the needs of all students

Qualified Candidates Have:

  • At least two years of teaching experience (required)
  • A bachelor’s degree (required)
  • Experience working in urban schools (highly preferred)
  • State teaching credentials (preferred)
  • An incredible work ethic
  • A belief in the mission and values of KIPP

Application Review Timeline:
Instructional positions at KIPP New Orleans Schools are filled on a first come, first served, rolling basis and you will receive notification of the status of your application within two weeks of the date you submitted your application. In order to increase your chances of being selected for a given position we recommend that you submit your online application as early as possible.

Application Feedback: Please note that we are very fortunate to receive a large number of applications. We highly encourage you to complete your application with a high level of thoughtfulness, detail, and excellence. Due to the high volume and our internal policy, we do not provide feedback for candidates who do not move beyond the screening stages of the application process.
